ETS End Tank Design! - No One Compares!

Hey Guys -

I'm cleaning up my desktop and found a ton of pictures. So you might see a couple posts show casing our product line.

Here are a few pictures of our Evo 8/9 end tank. Each end tank is welded externally as well as internaly and hand ported to provide the smoothest possible flow.

This pictures shows the difference in cast inlet/outlet vs the ETS inlet and outlet. You can see how much the cast outlet restricts flow if not ported.

Thanks!

Michael

actually the best combo is a hand welded 2.5 pipe inside the cast endtanks. thats what I use. there is definitely some airflow loss around the sharp corners. hand welded tanks cant really compare to cast tanks in this regard. but for fully hand built tanks yours are the best!

There is a pretty big debate in this department. Cast tanks can very from batch to batch, we have seen cast tanks create hot spots on the end tanks from heat pockets as well as leaks through the pores that need to be fixed. The only way to keep the end tanks consistent is hand fabricating each tank.

Don't get me wrong, we do offer cast tanks on our Saab intercooler where the tanks are made in the US and the castings still very from batch to batch. If you use a cast tank from overseas, have fun welding it! You get what you pay for. Many of us have seen posts about the ebay intercooler nightmares.

In the end, we find it's better to offer a quality product even if it takes more time to build. Most companies won't port the inlet and outlet or weld the inside of the intercooler. We have had competitor intercoolers come into the shop where you can stick your finger into the inlet and outlet and feel the tube poking through. We don't believe in these practices... We won't sell anything that we wouldn't run on our own car.

Thanks!

Michael

Very nice looking guys! I'm personally a fan of cast end-tanks but ETS has by far the nicest welded sheet metal tanks available on the market.
