Autolite Iridium XP Plugs installed- Problem

Hello,

I just put these plugs in and the car runs but once I get into any kind of boost or throttle, the motor just sputters. I know something is wrong and it is most likely the plugs. I usually run NGK's which have always worked great but Autozone didn't have them. The salesman said that they would be better than the NGK's. Like a fool I decided to get them. Anybody else have a problem with these plugs?

I'm not sure what the gap is- whatever gap they come with. The salesman said not to mess with the gap and I read on here that the Autolites should not be re-gapped. I don't know if there is any truth to that.

Does the salesman own an Evo? I would check the gaps. I just installed NGKs on my car, and its fine. I gapped them to .028, and I have had no problems.

Definitely check the gap. How much boost are you running or when does the mis-firing occur?

the salesmen is a retard. Get a gap tool and gap them down to .25-.27 depending on your power.

Check the gap. Your probably getting misfires. The denso ikh24 iridiums come gapped at .032 and you have to gap them down. These are probably the same. When you gap them just tap them on something hard and use a feeler gauge to measure the gap. Don't use the round gapper because you should try to not touch the iridium tip on the plug.

I suggest you listen carefully to this info! Beat me to it...
