Not even close. Nobody ever mentions that the 350Z always lost to the RX8 in pretty well any comparison ever done between them as the RX8 will run circles around it on a small windy track much like an EVO would. Mazda and Mitsubishi know how to make cars that almost handle for themselves. 350Z and 370Z are raw handling cars. Rewarding for a professional driver but harder for the average driver to take to it's limits. If you consider yourself a very good driver you may prefer the 370Z's more exciting limits compared to the EVO X where the car does some of the handling itself. Also how much engineering does it take when they have been using the same basic engine in all Nissans for over ten years now?
As well it sometimes comes down to geographics. 350Z's are slow in my part of the world (3400+ ft. above sea level) where turbocharged engines have the advantage of making their own atmospheres. It's go turbo or go home up here.
