I totally agree. Evos/Lancers are also very basic electrically, so it's a great car for a first timer to install an alarm on. Most professional shops will just throw the brain somewhere convenient in the dash, unless a spot is specifically requested and they won't go to great lengths to hide the wiring. Doing it yourself, you can put it where ever your heart desires and spend the time to hide the wiring. You have all the time in the world, where a shop wants you in and out as quick as possible to maximize the money they bring in for the day.
