Im guessing that my problem...my car totally died yesterday. When trying to restart i realized i didnt hear the fuel pump. so i checked the fuel pump fuse...it was fine. Then i pulled the pump and threw 12v to it, and it kicked on fine. Then i checked for voltage at the harness to the fuel pump....nothing.

Looked in manual, did a search and i cant figure out where the relay is.

Its an 03 btw.

i think that narrows it down to 3. Ill call the dealer tomorrow.

Sorry to see no one responded........Maybe "General" wasnt the best place to post..........Hey Im no Guru but when I throw pwr to the ignition I sometimes dont hear the pump (Walbro 255).........Curious as to what the issue is.......Maybe the relay is at the lower left interior fuse panel??..........Peace

Mine is against the firewall to the right when facing the front of the car. Rather large IIRC

Ok when i called the dealer, they had no idea where there located. But he did tell me two relays came up.
When i researched more, i came across a site that said i had 3 relays.

Either way 2 or 3, i still have no idea which relays are the fuel pump.

Under the hood nex to the ABS unit, they say Denso on them.

There's 3 of them 2 are in the dash mounted junction box. C-221 & C-223

i highly doubt the relay is the problem (never ever seen one fail on an evo 8/9). if your not getting power to the fuel pump, you likely have another issue. i would check all the engine fuses first. the ones under the dash and the ones in the engine compartment. if they are all ok, AND you are getting spark (verified by pulling a plug and watching it arc), then you very likely could have a bad relay.

If I recall for an Evo 6 there is one in the engine bay and one behind the dash. The one behind the dash is next to the engine control relay I think. But this is all Evo 6.

just because you havent seen it happen to a 8 or 9 doesnt mean it cant happen. If i recall right it was a problem with old DSMs.

Also i checked every fuse (already said that)

And i havent gone as far as checking for spark because my fuel pump is not kicking on...checked for voltage at the pump....zero (already said that too)

Unless your saying something igntion wise might have gone up and is causing the pump not to get power...?

if your ecu isn't turning on, then your pump wont get power, and your ignition source wont get spark either. you can narrow it down to being the fule pump relay by simply checking to see if your getting spark. if your getting spark, and fuel pump is not turning around, you know that the ecu is trying, but the relay or pump are bad (and in your case since you said you have no voltage, then it would be the relay).

but check the spark, i bet you don't have any spark, which would mean that the problem is something other then the fuel pump relay. i've been wrong before but i deal with problems a lot and just running through a few simple checks can narrow the problem down quickly.

The two in cab fuel pump relays are on the left side of the junction box by the driver's left knee with the relay for the IC sprayer in between. The bottom #1 relay is closed when the ignition is on and powers the #2 relay. The #2 relay is closed by the ECU. The #3 relay by the ABS unit (under hood) is also controlled by the ECU and controls the two speed pump - resistor for low speed, no resistor for high.

After replacing all fuel relays one by one. (3 total) Still no luck.

So heres the update:
car gets power
it can turn over
its getting spark
all fuses are good
all fuel pump relays are new

Fuel pump is getting no power.

When the car first died it threw a po335 code. After researching it, it look like the sudden stall to the car while driving it might have thrown that code. I did clear it.

The po335 is back again after a week of trying to start it. does this have anything to do with my problem or is it from cranking it and not starting?
