The microchip inside the sensor can work down to -20C. Once the microchip has booted up, it will generate a voltage of 0.53V on the yellow wire from the sensor. This voltage lights up the "S" light on the gauge.

Please check the volatge of the yellow wire for me. Third terminal down from the top right on the Junction board. Check it against ground.
