Run slicks when you go to the track and preload the drivetrain using the e-brake. This will ensure less shock to your drivetrain. You may also want to look into a two-piece driveshaft with an aluminum rear section to help absorb more of the shock.
I will be running a 2.3L on the HTA86 as well.
