A 16" wheel will fit on the GTS model. It is the smallest wheel that will fit, though.

Most online shops do not have the info for 2008 models, and this is handy info. Mazda3 specific steelies are the same for the Lancer.

I thought I would mention that a 235 tire WILL fit

local dealership has a set on a DE.. set of 17's .. looks like stock offset and 7inch width

they were 235/45/17 and they went right up to the edge of the fenders .. looked pretty good actually.

no chance to try and swing the wheel side to side to see if they rub.. but should work

your sidewall will be bigger and your speedo will be off by a bout 5 mph (tooslow), gearing will be thrown off and fuel mileage will suffer, if you want less road noise= smaller wheel...keep your overall diameter (wheel+tire together) the same or close to stock unless you dont care about that stuff

Thought I would throw in this tire size calculator for folks wondering about replacing their stock tire with a different size.

Anybody know what the center bore size is on the stock wheels?
This would help others in wanting to buy other wheels. (I found a set of cheap RSX wheels, and am not sure if they'll fit).

Anyone know what the centre bore diameter on the GTS is? Looking for steelies. I've got a set with 67.1mm wondering if that will fit.

Well I wouldn't have to make the effort if I found out they didn't. Plus they are on another car, i was planning on buying a replacement for that car and using the present ones for the Lancer. Besides you can add it to your sticky on top I found the info. Majority of 5x114.3 bolt pattern steelies with 67.1mm centre bore will fit. This was verified by a canadian online tire dealer and tire rack. So most hondas and mazda steelies will work. Some old toyota jeeps might not, offset is not close. so the GTS is 215/45/18. i know the 18 stands for the rim size (correct me if im wrong), will 215/45/17 snow chains work on this wheel? or will that -1 inch greatly affect it?

thanks! sorry if the answer is somewhere else, i searched it but i kept getting directed to oz forums
