Question Piggyback CEL (i've already searched w/ no luck)

(sorry wrong section. Mods please move. Thanks )

Ok, i did a lot of searching and haven't found any real answers. Also i have already emailed RRM several times and even called, it seems they are really busy so i haven't heard back from them.

I have installed my V1 Piggy Back on my auto OZ.
the power has finnally kicked in, and my MPG have went up, (260 for a full tank) So i know the piggy is working.
I have triple checked my connections, they are soldered up. And all my vacumn lines are zip tied.

I have a vacumn guage, i'm not sure what it is supposed to read, but it reads around 20 when i'm at idle, and at WOT it is just under 0.

Anyway. I have a CEL, 3 codes have been thrown

2 for running lean
1 for a bad O2 sensor.

these lights only came on after i had installed the piggy. I have reset everything 3 times now and it's not going away.

Here are my engine mods

RMR SRI, FPR, Mirage Underdrive Pulley, Engine mounts, Engine damper, Testpipe

The car is running fine. The idle is a little rough,. but not bad enough to cause concern, cos i know a bad idle is kind of expected with a V1 piggy. Also when the car shifts, it seems a little rougher than usual.

Any help would be appreciated. Saying as RRM are understandably busy right now.

I still think you should put the stock FPR back in and see.

i hade the same CEL before i changed out the FPR, so i know it isn't that. Plus, if that was the problem, i would get a CEL for running rich if anything, not lean, cos the FPR is set at a higher PSI than stock

Moved for ya.

Any thought of actually changing the O2 sensor? They do die, you know. It might have just been a coincidence that it did right after the PB install (maybe the new A/F learning fried what little life it had left?).

that might be a good idea. You think if i unhooked the piggy and took it to the dealership they would do it under warranty? Cos i know they cost like $70 from autozone (non-OEM)

I think that the O2 sensor is considered a wear part - so odds are they will not swap it out for you.

argh. that sucks. Well i don't suppose anyone knows where i can get one for cheap? Just to test. I don't wanna buy one and still have the CEL and find my O2 sensor was fine to start with.

those should be the O2 sensors for our cars. you might also want to try a MIL eliminator from http://www.mileliminatorsonline.com i used one to help get rid of my CEL when i put my header on and rounded the 2nd O2 sensor off so i couldn't do the mechanical fix on it.

who made your FPR btw?

i don't have a header though. And the CEL was on before the Testpipe also. So i know thats not it.

I don't know who made the FPR, airlinevomitbag sent me it for free with the testpipe.

Judging by the price differences.. I hope it's your first O2 sensor that's burnt out if you end up going with these guys

as for running lean. i threw the same code and most of the time all you have to do is clean the MAF sensor. take it off get some break cleaner and spray it. put back on when completely dry

Are you sure that you have the RRM tune on there? The piggyback is VERRY sensitive and LOVES to throw CEL's.

they make a cleaner specifically for MAF sensors... it's made by CRC and it's in a grey can. if you're going to clean the MAF use that.

Even if you the cel came on before the testpipe, your gonna have trouble turning it back off without that cat. Doesn't RRM sell a 20 dollar piece that tricks the o2 sensor into thinking the car filters enough fumes even if its not?

Those 3 code came from a bad fonctionning 02 sensors... (P0171 if I remember...) I got a problem like that when my car it 65 000 miles and I chage my o2 sensors and all came back great.

I hope that will fix your problem too.
