Transmission failiure

1000 miles and my evo is in the dealer with them reporting they found a ton of metal in the trans oil and casing...my question is what now on a car a week old......what would you want Mitsubishi to do? It has had very light use and I have been babying the thing....obviously a fault from new

They need to replace, not fix. It's obvious something went wrong there.

Probably a manufacturing defect. Some people get all the luck, eh? Sorry to hear that.

I thought I was the only one! Dealer said Mitsu has never heard of bad trans in evo. Mine only had 380 miles when it started whining. I hadn't thought that the front diff might share the same oil and shavings. They want to just replace the bearings.

That was me with the diff noise. I get it when downshifting at higher RPMS. A grinding noise almost. But only when I let up off the gas Winding down from say 6k to 3k it makes a loud grinding noise then stops after 3k back down to 0.
