How do I reset the SRS light ?

I was changing out the my AC condensor today and had to disconnect the two yellow plugs for the airbag sensor. When I put everything back together, the SRS is on and won't go off. Unplugging the battery and replugging wont do the trick. I believe the SRS has its own ECU and needs to be reset. Does anyone know how to do it without going to the dealer and having them use the scan tool?

Actually, the aforementioned solutions are about all you can choose from. Typical OBD-II scanner cannot clear SRS lights. The dealership may clear it for you for free under warranty. Otherwise, they may try to investigate the cause of this light and charge you a lot for labor.

Or you can simply disassemble the instrument cluster and locate the little bulb for the SRS warning light. Remove, break, or cut the light and it'll never bother you again.

Take to the dealer they will probably charge you to clear the code. (Next time please
disconect the battery first.) If you disconect the battery before disconect the yellow
wires it will not set a code.(Disconect battery wait 1 to2 min. air bags hold charge
for 1 min in case battery gets destroyed in accident.)

I have experienced this personally.

I forgot to disconnect my battery and I umplugged my airbag sensor by the headlight when I tried to install my Kansai airbox. I threw the SRS lite and code.

A OBD-II scanner will not clear the code. It is a seperate computer system and requires a different computer to clear the code.

I took my car to the dealer and here is the gist of it.

-They charged me roughly $50 for a half hour of labor to diagnose the problem, even though I told them everything was fine.
-You cannot purchase the computer tools to reset the SRS lite. The tech stated it is a seperate computer system that runs diagnostics that cost $5000!!! I did see the computer on a cart.
-I did try to play stupid about the lite and get it fixed under warranty, but they knew I did it when the lines on the plug did not line up properly, so they f'd me on labor.

soooooooo, bite the bullet and pay the cost, or just pull the bulb to make the lite go away.
