AYC and ACD fluid change
Can you change the AYC / ACD fluid without using the MUT tools? Im not interested in bleeding the system but just drain and top off the fluids. Freaken AYC/ ACD pump is constantly making a whinning noise now. Hoping this solution helps.

Update. U do not need the Mut tool to drained the ACD fluid. I repeat, the Mut tool is not required to drain the ACD fluid. I just did mine, no service light or what so ever. Peace. Close thread.

Transfer case takes 2 different fluids. 1 is the actual gear oil. Mitsubishi calls for SAE 90 weight oil. I like to use the original Diaqueen stuff. 2 is the atf that operates internal solenoids (reservoir in trunk) and allows the system to transfer torque as needed to the wheels. The ATF does not mix with the transfer case oil or needs to be serviced. The only time it needs to be replaced and the system bled is if it comes apart for service, or if you take the lines off and let the fluid leak out. You do not need to drain the atf as part of routine maintenance.
