COP setup wiring (Denso 90919-02240, Yaris/Echo Schematics)
I was about to wire my new DIY COP setup, but I didn't feel safe by trusting unknown people on EvoM .
If the wiring is wrong, the ECU could be damaged so I just sourced a toyota repair manual, and verified all the wiring diagram on these forums.
Info on EvoM was on target , but there was no big schematic that had all the info needed.
I edited one to a complete wiring diagram, which apply only for the Denso 90919-02240 coils. It should help quickly understanding how to do the COP:
(Black/Yellow from Evo connector may be Black/White, use whichever you have)
IGF wire is used to create a square wave, for tach, just cut it and seal it forever
So now it's time to go to your local junkyard and get some coils from a Toyota Echo or Yaris (try to get
some low mileage ones). It's a very easy mod to do, well worth the dyno/drivability proven gain of these kits.

My personal toughts on the COP setup:
The improvement that made me the happiest is that the tip-in/spool response has improved by a minimum of 5% faster, which is a big difference. Quite hard to believe, but it really happened.
Idle:
-10% smoother than stock.
-Neutral reving feels like the flywheel is lighter.
1st gear:
-More low end torque.
-From a takeoff on the street, it's near as powerful now with the AC on than it was without the AC.
2-3-4-5 gear low end:
-A very little noticeable improvement in low end non-WOT.
All gears at wide open throttle run:
-As you gain RPM, the acceleration is definitely 10% smoother than stock (already had a very smooth timing map on mine)
-I did not do any Vdyno after, but I'd say under 10whp improvement from a 315whp baseline. The WOT gains are especially felt in the high RPM range for me. I don't have a very high flow with my VIII turbo at 24psi. You'd get more gain from this kit if you have a Black at 28 psi
My plugs were gapped at .024. I'll open them to .028 when I'll find my gapping gauge
It could reduce some random knock. I'll update.
Update: I was able to gap the plugs at 26 (from 24) due to the slightly stronger sparks. Drivability is still smoother and better.

If you don't know this parameter for 350z ones they could misfire,
or burn if their dwell time specification is longer, or shorter.
Also, physically they look too big to fit under the stock cover (not a big problem)
You can get 4 yaris coils from junkyard for under 100$ with pigtails.

Better stick with coils that has known OEM-like dwell time.
If you don't know this parameter for 350z ones they could misfire,
or burn if their dwell time specification is longer, or shorter.
Also, physically they look too big to fit under the stock cover (not a big problem)

18ga would be well enough for this application... The yaris coils connector are 18gauge so anything bigger won't improve the system, but won't hurt. It's like fitting a 3" downpipe to the stock catback
I used 14ga I had laying around in my garage. Anything bigger will be hard to bend.

I could get picture but this is really easy to find if you search for it on this forum.
If you really want it I'll take one from my car.
As far as knock reduction, I cannot tell if gapping my plugs from 0.024 to 0.028 did reduce knock. I did not have much random knock in my car. I have a silent 4g63 I'd say the tune is really on target and ultra smooth. What I could say is that I ended with a 0.25/0.26 gap. My car is getting less misfires at cold startup. This did not add knock. IMO if you get knock from too small gap, it's because AFR or timing is tuned on the edge... and you're pushing it.
