Info Request: 4G93 and 4G94 Heads

So its old news that the heads swap between the 4G93 and 4G94 motors but what's the differences? I know the cam between the Mirage 4G93 and Lancer 4G94 heads are different and the mirage cam is considered a small upgrade. But as for the head its self, anything to note?

Also as for the mirage cam being swapped into a Lancer. I've read a post that said it works but a friend and I gave it a try with his Lancer 4G94 and the cam angle reluctor did not directly swap over. It would need to be modified to fit properly and he decided not to complete the swap. Has anyone else did the grinding to make this work in a 4G94?

I think the 4g93 head flows better because it was meant for a 1.8, thus compensating for any power loss due to its displacement. I would suggest swapping the intake manifold as well.

Are the ports larger or something or are we just guessing? Also does the intakr manifold swap or do you have to use the 93 head to use the 93 manifold?

That sounds all good, but from someone who has messed with this, the reluctor does not just swap. There are alignment pegs on it that do not match with the cam. You can grind them off and it should then fit but I was just wandering if anyone else has done the grinding to make it work.

The heads are the same, The intake manifold from the 4g93 has shorter runners so you will pick up more at the top end but lose a little low end tq. The cam in the 93 has the same lift duration as the stage 1 but i cant remember the company. The intake manifold is a decent mod for price and effort.

I think it was the RRM stage one camshaft that resembled the mirage cam.

Does anyone know what to adjust in our roms to correct the erratic idle experienced with RRM's stage one cam? CEL for HIGH IDLE is constantly being thrown and the rpm's will go up and down. Until BISS screw is adjusted on throttle body, tach will then rest at 700 rpm. Problem repeats its self the CEL will come on then erratic idle will occur. Help, I dont want to have to put the stock cam bak in. Thanks

So the heads are the same then? That includes the exhaust and intake manifold flanges? So one can simply bolt the 93 intake manifold to there 94 head with no issues right?

Not sure what to tell you... what cell is it throwing? You have a few options for changing rpm levels and idle control but not sure which one is triggering your issue. I've never had the chance to mess with the RRM cam. Any other info you can add in? Only during hot or cold running or anything else to go on?

On cold starting...oh turning on the air conditioner makes the idle go back down to normal level around 650 rpm.
