Custom Winter Mats for my 09 Ralliart

I live in Chicago and the winters here get a bit slushy, salty, and wet.

I did not want to pay that mark up for the Lancer all weather mats... so here is my driver side custom made rubber mat...

I cut all 4 to shape with my Leatherman.

Notice the sweet Ralliart logo I expertly installed.

Aw snap, those are the AWESOME! Do they add HP too?

I was thinking about doing this too, for this upcoming winter.

I know what a Chicago winter will do to car floors so I am not going to play around.

I am going to put flexing plastic sheets under the mats to catch the run off. Something close to garbage bags but tough ones... and cut to fit of course.

I was just adjusting the passenger side mat and decided to look at them all in the car and ya know...they all don't look that bad. They are cut correctly.and the texture and color of the mats-to-floor looks nice.

I am surprised ,actually.

Eric, the Lancer mats are about 84 plus tax. I spent less than have that and 30 minutes of my time. Also, these are tougher and thicker than the Lancer mats.

I am not worried about the look and people judging my mats in the middle of winter, just that they are keeping me high and dry!

Obviously, for someone of my high salary, 30 minutes of my time would be worth way more than $84. Plus, can you imagine what my friends at the yacht club are going to think of me when they see my home made mats?!

Don't let them bother you. I did that exact same thing 2 days after I picked up my RA.

Although I need to add that extra touch of duct tape. That's cool.
