i spent a lot of time trying to figure out a way to remove the chrome window trim.

could not figure a way with out possibly damaging the metal

i just ended up spraying them with plasti-dip in place.

inside the trunk lid , remove the inner cover. you will see the clip to remove the trunk release button.

Here you go.
You will need: Flathead screwdriver, needle nose pliers, painters tape, and your choice of paint. I used Plasti Dip spray. you can buy at any Home Depot. ( I had to go to a few to find it instock) It will take 5 min or less to remove and a few hours to paint and dry.
First you will need to remove the 7 pins with a flathead screwdriver.

Next you will need to remove the clip that holds the trunk release in place with niddle nose pliers. pull towards the front of the car or up. depends what way you look at it.

Pull the trunk release out and then unplug from harness.
Then thats it just tape it and paint! take your time taping it off. The black button will be tough. I placed a piece of painers tape across the chrome covering the button. Then I cut around the button with a small xacto knife, but any balde will do. I did it twice to ensure that it was covered good. The chrome might be removeable with the 2 screws but i didn't try, just taped it. Paint in thin coats so it doesn't run. I did 6 thin coats.

Take your time to removing the tape as not to pull off the Plasti Dip.
The pics are from my iphone so i hope they look ok!
I also did the window trim. There is already a how to on this. still gotta do the trim on the front bumper.
