Drives: 2009 WW RA

My next step in mods.

My list is mild, but I think will be perfect for my DD WW R/A.

1st EVO X FMIC

My only real question is if you are increasing the volume of air inside the FMIC will it effect the performance while staying with the stock Turbo? Does more volume/mass = slower boost/spool time?

2nd Exhaust UR axle back

Looks good sounds good and free's up exhaust a little. Don't really want to mess with down pipe, test pipe, or single cat back.

3rd Rims ??????

Not sure what set I am going with yet. (I am still in love with the EVO X set)But they must at least weight less then 20 lbs for less unsprung weight and no more then $200 each. Not doing this until summer for sure.

4th HID

LOL my night vision is frickin horrible so I think this will lighten thing up a bit. Not sure who is making these. But to see better at night and on that drive to work in the morning couldn't be a bad thing. And you know when you see a car coming at you with HID it does look pretty sweet.

That's pretty much it. Except for a tune (5th) but I am not doing that until my 3 year warranty is over. And the only company close enough to me that I would trust to tune my ride is Buschur(4 hours away).I just cant bring myself to do it until then. These are all my goals for 2010. Also when I burn off these crappy stock tires I will also get a nice new set of sticky shoes. LOL I cant help myself if it wasn't for my conscious (AKA Warranty) and my wallet I would buy every mod on the face of the plant.

1. A larger intercooler will result in a higher pressure drop but how much this will impact performance isn't clear.
2. Why not go for a catback or proper TBE? The power gains will be much more noticeable.
3. Getting 18s that weigh that little for under 200$ a pop will be difficult. I think the Rota DPTs are close if not slightly under that but a set is about 900$.
4. Please do not put HIDs in housing not designed for them. If you want HIDs, buy some appropriate housings or get them modified by a place like Lightwerkz. If you want better bulbs that are very bright, look into the Osram Rallye 65. They produce similar output to a lot of HID setups for a fraction of the cost.

Ok so no on the HID's. Tire Rack and Tire Barn both have nice sets for under $200 each and less then 20lbs. There are a set of Inkies for $138 each but they are Black and I am not going with that look on a WW R/A.

I am going to check with a couple of the Big shops and see what they think about the FMIC upgrade. And what the pro's and con's are. The front bumper on the R/A covers most of the EVO X IC also. But cooler air usually means more power.

Full TBE is way more then what I am going to spend on exhaust. The UR is in the range that I am looking to spend on the specific mod. Plus I am pretty sure you drop some weight/back pressure from that heavy stocker muffler.

This car is my DD. So I want to perk it up, not drop a set of coil overs and a FP red on it. This is a mild stage 1. After the warranty hits the can. It will still be my DD so mild it will stay.
