Question Exhaust Questions

So I've decided to get an exhaust system for my Ralliart. Unfortunately, I haven't seen / heard any other Ralliarts with an exhaust installed. Also, there doesn't seem to be a concise list of exhaust available with sound clips on the Internet that I've found. So I thought I would get input from everyone here. The question is, what exhaust should I get? Here are my current criteria, and they are flexible:
  • Has to be dual exit - I don't like the look of a single exit when the car was designed for 2
  • Would like a more aggressive sound when getting on the throttle
  • Would like the loudness inside the car to be similar to stock when cruising on the highway and diving slowly around town
  • Affordability is a factor, all things the same I would get the cheaper exhaust
  • My past cars (Mustang GT and S2000) had Borla and Magnaflow exhausts, and I like that sound
  • I'm leaving the cat in place in an attempt to limit loudness

Let me hear your opinions.

Check this out. Maybe ask the member what he thinks of the sound. I know another guy that had the Magnaflow system installed by RRE, and it sounded very good.

There is not alot of sound proofing in our cars and if you want to keep the sound levels close to stock that is not going to happen. As for purchasing an exhaust you will like I would suggest the
CP-E or Burschur Racing exhaust if you want to go dual however, the pricing on those exhaust are expensive but not out of range of most high quality exhaust. I know that HKS has the Legamax premium but it is even more than the two I stated above. I purchased the AMS exhaust and I absolutely love it and it really does not bother me that the other half is missing as to the fact that this wasnt really a dual exhaust seeing that it is not a V6 or V8.

I'm expecting it to be louder than stock with an exhaust, but i'm hoping that by leaving the cat in (it was removed in the last 2 cars) and getting and exhaust that doesn't resonate or boom it won't be too bad when driving. Honestly, while driving around the tollways, I can't even hear the stock exhaust over the wind and tire noise.

I still have my cat and you can definetely tell but then again I dont have a dual setup. You will have to wait for one of the other guys to chime in on that one.

Put a couple of resonators one right after another and you should be fine. You could get the Ultimate Racing resonated/mini muffler test pipe and resonated/mini muffler mid pipe to go with their rear muffler. I've heard a couple of clips and they sound real mean at wot and real quiet in cabin on the highway.

I'm running the Buschur catback, and all I can say is that it's mighty loud. Not in that Sprite-Can-Civic kind of way, but it sets off car alarms pretty frequently. The sound outside the car can't be beat, it's really throaty. I'll try to post a sound clip or something within the next week or so.

I have the Ultimate Racing catback. I have all the pieces that they make to see which I liked best (plain midpipe, resonated midpipe, mini-miffler assembly, and of course the dual outlet muffler assembly). If you want something that is a little louder than stock and has a nice tone to it I'd go with the resonated midpipe, mini-muffler assembly, and the dual outlet muffler assembly. It's a nice tone and won't resonate like crazy inside the cabin. My setup was this way but the only drawback was the mini-muffler assembly hangs kind of low. For me, that's not good in the snow or the PA potholes so I set my car up with the resonated midpipe and dual outlet muffler assembly. You probably wouldn't like that setup from the sound of it because it will resonate inside the cabin between 2 and 3 grand. At highway speed or at 3 grand or above it's pretty quiet. Here's a link to the UR system to make better sense of what pieces I'm talking about.

I have been looking at their exhaust. I like that it is modular. Can keep it quiet when I want and louder when at the track. Do you have something that you can record how it sounds in the car as you have it? Like doing a wide open launch and also just steady in 6th in the drone range and again at 70?

It would be cool to have an index of recordings like that for the different exhaust.

I have a Buschur TBE exhaust on mine and it sounds GREAT. The sound is a low rumble, and when you get on it the sound of the exhaust doesn't outweigh the sound of the engine.

I'll see what I can do about exhaust clips from my UR catback.

That's interesting as buschur_whacked made sound like it is very loud.

Is Ravnos running a Ralliart? I'm not sure what the difference would be between an RA and an older evo. All I know is that when I cold start my car it sets off car alarms in my apartment's parking lot. Decibel-wise, it's loudest from 2-3k rpm, but once you hit 4k and up, it actually mellows out a little.
