Should I go back, tear apart the block, and replace the piston rings I fried?

Check and make sure you don't have any crimps in the blow off valve return pipe (hose that goes back to the intake pipe that vents boost). Only time I have seen revs shoot up when off the gas is when the blow off valve cannot vent and the residual boost gets forced past the throttle plate.
If it is a drive by wire issue, that is very scary. Are you sure you did not have cruise control on or anything????

I gotta go check that tomorrow.
I'm sure i didn't have cruise control on cause the drive was all stop and go the whole way.

Sounds like you either shifted down when you should have shifted up, OR there is a fault with your pedal sensor. Get the dealer to have a look!!

I haven't been able to recreate it.
I swear I didn't mis-shift but I'm not gonna rule it out, i mean anything can happen. Gonna take it in to my dealer at the 10k oil change to have em do the AWC software, fuel line, door rattle, and take a look at it.

Sounds like shifting it in manual the trans ecu remembered what to do. It learned your shifting points from all the manual inputs.

^lol. I just saw that this morning.
Yes, at least it wasn't your floor mat jamming your throttle open!

The lexus that had the accident reached 120mph and the people inside had enough time to call the cops and have a conversation with them. During this time, I wonder why no one thought to slam on the brakes, put it in neutral, or kill the motor...

Some people don't know what an emergency brake is. Or what neutral on their transmission is. Lexus ask all owners to remove their floor mats too!

This one made me chuckle, same article from http://www.clickondetroit.com/automo...71/detail.html

The Japanese automaker warned owners that if they think their vehicle is accelerating out of control, they should check to see whether their floor mat is under the pedal. If a driver can't remove the floor mat, Toyota advises drivers to step on the brake pedal with both feet until the vehicle slows and then try to put it into neutral and switch the ignition to accessory power.
|
Why not slap it into neutral, and put it in accessory mode IMMEDIATELY? Then pull over while coasting.

According to this, putting the Lexus in neutral did NOTHING.
I know the throttle is fly by wire but does anyone know if the transmission (going into neutral) and brakes are also fly by wire? Kinda scary...

Floormat, my ass. Drive by wire is a scary, dangerous technology. There are reports of several different make and model cars going WOT suddenly with it.

Just wanted to add something similar just happened to me today, I had the car in sport mode and when I let go of the gas it revved up and made a loud clunking noise, the car kinda jerked forward and felt like a kick in the ass... My RA is completely stock, I didn't look at which gear I was in, but I was going about 60km/h
