Yes aftermarket usually are wider, taller, more durable, better endtanks, better cooling design.

Although this is very true, the amount of power this car + turbo can make on a tune fully bolted is about 270 whp (legit) which the evox intercooler is more then capable of cooling and flowing.
Unless you have aspirations for a larger turbo in the future there is no need to go bigger then the evo x outside of asthetics and desire.

^ what Tommy said. They generally fit the same as the EvoX intercooler but are a bit more efficient. That being said, for my purposes, the cost difference between the EvoX IC and an aftermarket IC setup is not worth it. But hey, if you've got the extra cash, an aftermarket setup adds to the bling factor.

I agree that the price difference isn't worth it. As it is, the EVO X I/C has the exact same mounting points as the RA. The only thing to worry about is vertical clearance.
The other option is to get a custom I/C at that point, you are paying more, but you get a large core plus the custom parts to attach it.

It really boils down to price. If u can find a good used X IC for a decent price get it but if u buy it new then u might as well go for aftermarket.
