My unofficial 1/4 mile time

I used a device called a G-Tech Performance meter. I did a couple 1/4 mile runs and a couple HP runs using this device. It is actually fairly accurate (within a few HP) for what it is. The HP numbers that I got seem accurate, but the 1/4 mile times I am unsure about.

I was getting around 220-230HP.This is not brake or wheel horsepower, it is called "net" HP. Here is a little explanation of what it is...

"The G-tech does not measure engine horsepower at the crank,
which is what the automobile manufacturers and magazines
typically report.

The G-tech does not measure wheel horsepower either (a
dyno measures wheel horsepower). As you may know, wheel
horsepower
always measures lower than engine horsepower,
since it includes drivetrain loss, the rolling resistance of the

tires on the road, and other factors.

The G-tech measures
net horsepower, which reads even
lower than
wheel horsepower. The G-tech’s net horsepower

value is a measurement of all the horsepower that is available
to accelerate your vehicle after all power losses have been
subtracted."

My 1/4 mile times are...
Altitude - 2200FT (670M)
Temperature - 70oF (21oC)
People in the car - 2
14.67 @ 101.3 MPH with NO brake pre-loading
14.53 @ 101.3 MPH with 2000RPM brake pre-load

I'll post my stock numbers and my GST tune numbers another day.

seems way off with 14.5 @101mph.. also you are tuned so it shows how off it is since that 14.5 is stock time.

My car is faster then stock. I'll be posting my stock time sometime this weekend to compare. I just forgot my laptop last time I went out, to switch the ECU maps.

^ do that, then try a 1/4 mile drag strip and check your real numbers; both soft launch and brake-boosting, and compare to the G-Tech thingie

Yep, those numbers look way off. You are tuned by TTP. Even if it is just just a base line tune it is still a tune. Look at IdriveRA's signiture. His is just tuned also and is a full second lower than the times you are reporting.

Well baseline as in no power adders along with the tune. I am aware of a few tweaks here and there between the tune provided by GST, AMS and TTP. As well as the tweaks each shop will do provided you send them some logs of your specific car or you just get the generic tune. But still your 13.5 and his 14.5 is a huge difference.

1320ft long GTech is the best.

My opinion is that if the GTech has not been backed up with a real proof source such as a timeslip, it just dilutes good information.

Are some 1/4 mile tracks actually only 1000 ft. long?

Maybe I entered the weight of my vehicle wrong in the G-tech. I wasn't sure of the exact poundage, so me and my buddy figured 3950 lbs. was a good number. The curb weight is 3572 lbs. I may have to hit a scale to get an exact number.

weight only affects the HP/TQ numbers on the g-tech. there is a pitch correction factor setting that you could look at. its usually on a default for most vehicles but depending on if you have any suspension work done it could be lowered.
