As far as "technically no servicing for lifetime of the filter".... you have to service is SOMETIME. The job of a filter is to trap dirt... to stop it from getting into the intake. You either have to replace a filter or clean it after x amount of miles. There is no filter in the world that will last forever without cleaning or replacing it. That is unless the car is in a dust-free zone at the manufacturer .

<Shrug>
That's what it says for the ITG ProFilter panels...that even with lifetime dirt load up it still flows better than a clean paper filter and only marginally worse than a perfectly clean cotton filter.

Normally Ralliart3000gt has the Ralliart ones on ebay, but I think I bought the last one.
You can get them from japanparts as well.
http://japanparts.com/db/partslist.p...aker=3&volkey=
Gruppe-s has the HKS
http://www.gruppe-s.com/Evo_X/evo_x_eng.htm
Works has the Works filter...
http://www.worksevo.com/store/produc...roducts_id=501
Personally I recommend the Ralliart (if you want a pure factory look and good gains and long reusability), or the HKS if you want good gains and an aftermarket look). They are all very similar. The FQ-400 has the HKS drop-in.

Those ones from Mach Evo aren't for Evo X. Just the K&N has an option for the X / Ralliart.

Man I cant decide i think i like the HKS super hybrid filter, but I wounder how often you have to replace it 10K 30K 50K?Its what my Mitsu Mechanic recommended to get. How long have you guys been running your drop ins and did you get any CEL's (stock no tune)? Talked to one of the top tuners in the mid west and he stated that the factory intake set up was great and all anybody would need to do was to get a drop in to free it up a little. So which of you guys are happy with drop ins?

I've had a K&N drop-in for about 5-6k miles now. CELs aren't an issue. Stock intake is designed exceptionally well, yes. Most that update to an after-market intake are looking for a more robust turbo spool/bpv sound I think.
I'm very happy with my drop-in, but I am probably going to switch to an HKS drop-in after another 5-6k miles. I'd feel more comfortable running a dry vs oiled filter...

That is the exact reason I got the HKS drop-in over the K&N. I have only had the HKS for like 3k km but it has worked great so far and no CEL.
