That is the same way the DSM guy makes his brackets to fit the brembos on the DSM's. The guy above even had to grind away the same part of the caliper.

I wonder if the same bracket would fit.

The brackets look the same... I can wait to try this out.

KMV is the maker of the brackets if anyone can contact him over on DSMforums and send him this link so we can try it out.

Ingenious.

I see they've still had to grind away some of the caliper to make it fit. I wouldn't go for a solution that required removal of that part of the caliper, but that's just me.

This is what I said earlier in the post:
Unfortunately it can't be done safely (w/o costing a lot). The holes overlap one another in such way that everything would need to be shifted WAY over (not very safe for something critical like brakes). If they bolt holes were offset MORE, it wouldn't be such a pain
Looks kinda hinky, but in for results.
Yes you can do this with any caliper, but specifically the VIII/IX will work with the X bracket.
Wouldn't it be easier to cut the edge of the bracket vs grinding the caliper?

I don't think that I will pursuing this, any further. If people want to try that set out, I would love to hear some results. I will not be grinding into the caliper that close to the actual pistons and reservoir. Heat does some funny things to calipers. It is easier than that to get the Z06 to fit (and I still can't believe that it is). If you just wanted to upgrade the front to a 4-piston, this is the way to go => TheBrakeMan sells a kit that is similar, except the caliper is designed to bolt right into stock knuckle. I think that that kit retails for $1,500 or so. I knew about that, so I just figured that most people, who wanted this specific configuration, would just run that.

So, basically, you can go with my basic kit (just a larger rotor and caliper) for $1k.
You can go with TheBrakeMan's kit (identical to the Evo 9 setup) for $1.5k (rears are the same price). (So, between $2k and $3k).
I am shooting for about $3k for the final release of the Z06 BBK.

Those are basically your cost effective options.

Brembo and StopTech are going to be twice that, but they may have the ability to make rotors and such that are not available to me.

That is how I will leave this thread to run its course. I am glad that we now know that this setup works, though. Big props to all of the guys behind the Iron Curtain, so to speak.

Different mounting lugs. The pad shape is the same.

The calipers themselves are also larger.

Maybe, but the important thing is that they should be able to incorporate the same kinds of rotors. Diameter will not be an issue, even though the IX calipers are smaller. That is what I thought was being asked.

The bolt point for the 8/9 vs 10 are identical. But the X has a larger caliper, and is set further up, allowing for bigger rotors (which is why 8/9's LOVE them as a simple upgrade).
FYI, pricing:

Brake Man
-FRONT P/N 001-1165 F3 CALIPER 12.50"x1.10" SUPERBRAKE ROTOR*now standard with s/s lines* $1529.70 (pads, calipers, rotors, ss lines)
-REAR P/N 001-1166 F1 CALIPER USES OEM ROTOR *rotors not included* $729 (pads, calipers, ss lines)
Superbrakes rear rotors are availble for rear system add $200

Stop Tech Front are a 328x28 rotor and ST-40 calipers (nothing else) $2000
