X MR wheels? I know they don't fit.... but...
I know that the EVO X MR wheels don't fit with the stock 245/40/18 tires on them, but has anyone tried these wheels with 235/40/18 tires? I am keeping the stock EVO X MR wheels off of my MR upon trade in, and was wondering about options.
Option one would be the new tires.
Option two would be rolled fenders... how hard is it to roll the fenders without messing up the paint, or making the car look bad in some other way? Also, any rubbing issues in the front? I have just heard about the rear tires rubbing.
Thanks,
Keith

robispec did the time attack ralliart sportback for south coast mitsubishi. I felt the rear fenders on that car and it was rollled flaaaat, they used the evo X gsr wheels which have the same dimensions as the MR wheels and they had 245/40/18 on it, I think it was Nitto's. But it is possible, and remember this car is a time attack car with AST coilovers, im assuming its not out on the market yet. If it can survive a time attack, it should survive day to day driving 90% of owners here on the board use it for
pics for reference: Redline Time Attack Pics :)

I saw the rear tires in person when I was at south coast to get the recalled done. There was deep gashes on the sidewalls. The wheel fitment was pretty flush though, it just sticks out a tiny bit

a bit of a roll and you'll be right! i do like the MR wheels and was considering purchasing them, but went with the volks instead. i was told that the MR wheels wouldn't fit, but take it somewhere where they have a good track record of rolling to ensure that you get a quality end result
they'll look great!

if you must have the wheels from an evoX..........
.........you can have the mounting face milled down 5 to 10mm.
this will move the wheel "in" and the wheel/tire will clear the wheel well.

I don't think you can mill enough to make 245s fit. 235s fit with an ideal offset, but I can't see anything wider fitting unless the offset is lowered and the fenders are rolled.

In case this wasn't clear, if you want 245s, don't shave the rims. You'll need to roll the fenders either way, so just do that.

You can run 235s no problems but the 245s should fit your car. Just roll the fenders and slap them on there.
