Light weight Wheels

I was looking for light weight wheels (lighter than stock), but I wanted something strong yet not pricey like the Enkeis. I wish I could afford the Enkeis but I need the money for upgrades. I wanted some mesh style wheels but I changed my mind when I saw some of the other Ralliarts in the photo gallery. Any other suggestions?

Found these

there is always the rota dpt (ce28n copies) and for an 18x9.5 it weighs 23lbs per corner, other styles which aren't bad are the gtr, svn and boost

Looks like I spook too soon, discount tire has some cheap ($165) Enkeis (light weight) .

But I wish this wasn't black but maybe gunmetal or bright silver and 8 instead of 8.5.

What is your price range and do you want to keep an 18 inch rim?

These are what I plan to go with:

http://www.tirerack.com/wheels/Wheel...ll&sort=Weight

They are about $100 less and about .1 lb heavier than the 17 in O.Z. Alleggerita HLTs, but that is fine for me. These plus some lightweight lug nuts and 235/45R17 tires will net you between 10 and 12 lbs of weight savings per wheel.

I don't won't to go above $200 per wheel, and I wouldn't mind getting a used set as long as they are in good condition.

I would like to keep an 18 inch rim.

By the way those are nice Ladogaboy.

the stock wheel alone weights about 23lbs if I'm not mistaken, I'd recommend pretty much what Ladogaby said, but I don't know about 17 inches HTLs though, those wheels already look 17 on actual 18" size cause of the lip, but they're about 5-6 pounds lighter than stock and will allow for wider rubber, which will help you save weight on rotational mass and you'll still be improving handling/traction thanks to the wide/stickier rubber (either Dunlops or Potenzas... or even get Nittos if you're a rich kid )

Whatever you like, but make sure you're getting lightweight if you're going to invest in wheels; My full O.Z Rally Allegeritta HLTs setup ran for $2,490 gross; Make sure you buy what you want but don't try to save a penny not to improve your ride performance/quality;

I'm not sure how many choices you are going to have for lightweight, 18s for under $200 a wheel. You're probably going to have to give on at least one of those. Lightweight is also relative, and since the stock rims seem to weigh around 26 lbs, you do have some room for weight savings. You'll probably be able to find something in the low 20's.

My stockers + tires weighed in excess of 48 lbs each (48.6 if memory serves). I can't imagine the 215 Yokohamas weighed more than 25 lbs... I'm guessing more like 23 lbs. Either way, the HLTs in 18 inch trim come in at 17.6 lbs I believe. They are 15.4 lbs for the 17s.

Yeah, 200 bucks won't buy a good/lightweight wheel man :S ... you're looking at 300+

Thanks for the advice and corrections Ladogaboy and jazket. Looks like I'm going with plan B, save some more money for better wheels and sit on the stocks with some all-seasons until then. I will just put the time/money into some other upgrades, but wheels are the sexiest upgrades to do first.

I went for wheel/tire upgrade right after I got a base flash; I say flash it first man
I also did my homework and I can say I enjoy the upgrade, cause the car performs better and looks better, and I bought a good recognized wheel brand and tire as well; save a bit more money and buy the right stuff- use some of that dough and get some performance upgrades, you'll enjoy that more than the wheels!
