Black Dust from the brakes
Hi,
I just need some info about other 2009 Lancer Ralliart owners here. Does your Ralliart also produced insane amount of black dust, my rims are always dirty due to this, and not only that but also my lower portion of the front and rear doors has plenty of black spots that can be seen when you look close to it.
Any info will be greatly appreciated

Yes, the brakes do produce an excessive amount of dust.

Just normal driving, I have no mods and I don't race the car too. Now my lower portion of the front doors and portion of the bumper behind the rear wheels has those black spots that will be a pain to remove. it could not have been normal bec its too excessive.

Try putting some wax on your rims too. Helps the dust wash off.
If you have a heavy foot and stop and go a lot, there'll be more brake dust than just highway cruising.

Get wheel cleaner, Meguiars or Eagle One and then buy Eagle One Rim Dust Protectant Spray. That is what I use and it stays clean for about 2 weeks depending on how and where I drive. Shouldnt cost more than 11 bucks to get it.

Thanks for the advice, any suggestions on how to prevent or minimize it going to the actual body of the car, specifically just around the fenders?
Also how do I remove the black dots on the body, because scraping manually might damage the paint.

This would help to a certain degree...
Not sure what "black dots" you have, but some gentle rubbing with some Bug/Tar remover might be what you need.

Well as far as I know any kind of stuff that gets on paint that is road grime typically can come off with a clay bar and cleaner wax from Meguiars. Be sure to Wash the car first and then Clay bar and after Wax it with a good hand style applicated wax. I Typically wax the car once a month to keep the water at bay. In any case though if you put on tire shine after a good wash you will see black spots along the lower side of the car and also on the sideskirts after driving because you may have to much shine on the tires.
As far as the black spots on the rims near the inside of the spoke area i would say use your nails or a green scouring pad like the ones used on kitchen pots and pans.
Hope this helps
