Projectors on a non projector ra??
Hey guys.
So I really want projectors. My question is will they one work with my aftermarket hid kit and two if they use the same size blubs as the basic non projector headlights. My idea which I hope will work is to buy the projector headlight housings and put my hid blubs and stock blubs in them. Will this work? You can get just the headlight housings for cheap.

No your stock 9006 bulbs won't work. RA OEM projectors and headlights retrofitted with projectors, you will have to use D2S style bulbs.

Mike get the projector headlights from Russ, 300+ bucks i think.. then just get bulbs d2s like brads said, you don't necessarily need an hid kit though
I've been wanting to try this as well but I haven't had the cash to order everything yet... it should be about 600+ bucks shipped from MitsuParts.net, that's about the price for ONE headlamp with stock HID kit for the MR at MitsuParts

You can buy the housing, which is the black case, lens, and projectors inside for $326.79 a piece from oemmitsubishiparts.com
Thats where I plan on ordering mine from. Then you'll need a 9006 HID kit and a D2S bulb adapter. $25 from retrofit source.

there are new kits out that are supposed to transform the basic bulb socket to an hid projector housing easily.

never seen these in person but i am definitely interested, the ebay kit does not come with ballasts i think the total price for hid kit + projector lenses is about 150 shipped maybe 175

those installation instructions explain everything. they include washers and 2 other parts that seal in the projector. so who is doing this first ?

Eh, I'd rather have the look of OEM projectors, but yes this is a cheap solution for projectors.

so this piece that i can buy, its the whole housing + lens minus the HID balasts and bulbs??
So i would get something similar to the one below?
