Drives: 09 Ralliart

Whats Next?

Well as far as tuning is going we have quite a bit with a little over a year now. So the main question for me if not alot of us is what is next for us Ralliart guys. The main question is where do we want to go and how far with this car and what parts and so forth are we gonna need to go to the next level.

I just thought that this would be a great time to discuss what could be coming down the pipeline seeing as the year is coming to a close in the next couple of months.

Drives: 2009 Lancer RA

I think the next couple of years are going to bring some interesting options for the RA guys, and some of the lingering "weaknesses" will probably be addressed.

First and foremost are more options for the TC-SST. Reflashed/reprogrammed TCU to allow for greater clamp loads, a super-sport mode, etc. Upgraded clutch plates that will hold power equal to what the 4B11T is capable of outputting. Also, later down the line, options to change the gearing (shorter like the EVO or possibly taller for better highway economy).

Next are more brake options. Not even just BBKs, but things that are more usable for the average RA driver, such as vented, slotted, drilled rear brake rotors; better front rotors; better brake pad options. In addition, of course, would be more BBKs to choose from for those of us who are interested in actually tracking our cars.

Speaking of which, I think we will start to see more options for swaybars, springs/dampers, coilovers, lightened strutbars, etc.

More interior options will also available for our interiors. I'm guessing that we'll be able to get our hands on the color display, hopefully more choices for bezel-mounted gauge clusters.

We are also going to benefit from many of the parts that come out for the EVOs, including various body panels, carbon fiber options, lightened glass (I read somewhere that the new EVOs were going to be released with a lighter windshield, saving a kilo or two.), and possibly even some additional power mods.

With alot of us going for twinscrolls I think the next thing to look at is the gearbox, Yes we need a reflash for it.
