Ralliart Sportback Weight... answers, not questions :)
As has become tradition with me when I get a new performance vehicle, I took my new Ralliart sportback (zero options car) down to the local truck scales. All wights on the truck scales are +/- 20 lbs.
Car with full tank of fuel and my fat ass in the seat = 3820 lbs, car alone was 3580 lbs.
In comparison, my old MR was 3900 lbs. with me in it... the new car with steal roof and hatch back instead of aluminum roof and trunk is 80 lbs lighter than the old car! The torque splitting rear differential in the EVO X's must weigh a ton!

Don't forget the trunk lid, package shelf, the rear strut bar, and the simpler suspension. Sure some of that is offset by the extra metal in the hatch, but not all of it.

The hatch is heavier than a trunk lid... not sure what your point is on that one... and the EVO suspension has lots of aluminum in it vs all steel in the Ralliart...
I am mainly providing empirical data here, weight of two cars taken on the same scale... I don't really care where our weight advantage comes from, I just know that a Ralliart has an 80 lb. weight advantage over an EVO MR (both of them zero options cars).

I know for a fact in Aus (and I'm assuming for all RA's) that the bonnet and roof are the same as the EVO X (All Alloy).
The EVO probably weighs more because of all the extra bracing it has over the RA.

I would think the Evo MR fenders, tires, wing, AYC/AWC, intercooler, turbo, Nav. system, and other things I can't think of off the top of my head probably ALL make a difference, even with the weight-saving parts on them like the roof and aluminum suspension systems.
