Odor eliminators inside the in-cabin filter?

Anyone tried cutting and slipping one of those activated carbon odor eliminator filters into the in-cabin filter element behind the glove compartment?

I'm starting to notice a musky smell in the car...

Do they cover up or absorb odors?

My car will end up smelling like ass with a little bit of squash...

I actually have something like this and it covers all the smells in the car pretty good. The only difference is mine is a disc that sits in a air freshener not these tiny beads. It lasts about a month and that's driving around almost everyday with the windows down. They get a lot stronger if your car is sitting in the sun too.

your probably right. it may just mix the smells into something horrible.

Fram has one that uses Arm & Hammer and it's supposed to work well. I can't find a part# for the lancer, but you could probably sprinkle baking soda or activated carbon in the pleats of the OEM??
