tint
hey i live in nj. i got some quotes about tint. one shop which previously tinted my other car b4 the ralliart told me that i would have to get these, if im not mistaken it was called (felt) installed in my door panels becuz the tint would scratch it i didnt get them put in. so i was quoted 290 to have my whole car tinted. 20 for each door with felt. and i was quoted 200 for just the back half tinted w/the felt. has anyone heard that? i went to other places and no one told me that and of course the prices were way lower

Yeah, you will need the felt or moleskin protector for the RA or u will get all these tiny scratches on your tint. I'm not sure about price for tint cause my dealer threw it in as part of my deal but I think they wanted $299 for tints and moleskin.

Yes it is true that you will need to get the felt if you dont want the scratches. I opted to not get it and I have scratches at the top edge line. I am not that bummed about it though.

you can't nail down average tint prices because they are different for pretty much every shop. Those 2 know what they are talking about, you will want the felt if you care to keep the tint in good condition. I go with the never rolling down the back window approach.. seems to be working so far .
Hows the dealer tint anyway brad. Mine was **** from day one just like everything valley Mits does.

I paid 170 including a front strip. I can't believe tinting in Jersey is so expensive. I've heard of the felt as a buffer, but 4 cars later I've never needed it.

Yeah, for some reason mitsi overlooked that and have been recommended for the felt as well to ensure no scratches
