A uncharacteristically dumb argument, Amby. If you put 150% of a GT-R's stock horsepower through the Nissan dual-clutch gearbox, it'll **** the bed too.

Exactly what I would expect it to do. However, if someone is going to say that the MR transmission is better because it doesn't break as often, you need to level the playing field. I'm sure the GTR tranny would be fine with only 290 HP while the MR would explode into a million pieces if you launched 450 HP through it.

I never said the MR transmission was better, but eventually with better mods to increase its strength, both trans will eventually be high up there in horsepower or at least be able to tackle long rigorous track days along with their manual counterparts.

I Imagine the only thing the Twinclutch is needing is for a car that weights 2,900 pounds; Imagine that mounted on an TC-SST with 400 crank hp which I believe is the max before it craps outta the box;
Should give a GT-R a run for it's bucks
But seriously the TC-SST can't be as good as the GT-R since that tranny is already moving a fatter car and 140+ more horses; I'm only going for the TC-SST cause it's got more safety and what not. 300 horses could still blow a tranny as well

No one even knows what the weak points on the SSTs really are just yet. Ok, the cooling system for one, but it hasn't caused failure - it only made the ECU dial back the power. We'll find out eventually.

Well, SSP (?) is currently doing upgrade kits that switch out the stock clutch plates with clutch plates that hold additional torque, so some of the limitations have to be hardware based, not just programming based.

sadly... i have had about 14 speeding infractions...(surprisingly though, my licence has never been suspended... probably because i was donating so much cash to the lynnwood police department =(.....). but that was ever since i turned 16 till about 21.... i'm 23 now and haven't recieved one ticket... so i guess i developed some driving maturity you would say.... stupid street racing and all that other crap is simply not worth it....

^^ What are you talking about? Did I miss a prior post or something? I thought this was about the tranny.

Hum, I just came up with a good thread subject:
How many tickets have you had your entire life

|
including phot gaydar, probably 20 haha
none since 2006 though... 18 months without a license will change you, trust me.
