My suggestion get a couple race event then decide what you want.
$2K you can get good coilovers too. /if the pricong will be around the Evo one's/
You dont need the high end ones.
But certainly you will need to adjust to the track and the road. Good alignmet shops can do it fast.
Or even for winter or summer. /snow etc you need a higher car, and the winter tires are tend to be taller /
i'm sure the RA will handle good . So with good tires little power mod you can hit the track and enjoy it !

I didn't think that was completely true. I had a friend that blew all his money on hooking up his camaro. It put out so much torque that the rear would scrape and cause his car to jump weirdly. The guy at the shop said that he needed a better setup for his suspension. He snaped hi swaybar and was putting out to much power that the spring rate was so weak that it would compress before he could get traction. Atleast thats what the shop said. For all I know that could be complete bull. Outside of handling is there a limit on power that is put to the wheels that would affect the suspension or blow seals on the struts?
Another thing I always hear is power is nothing without control.

Setting up your suspension for drag vs a road course/auto-x is vastly different. On a road course it doesn't matter how much power your car has, you want a good suspension setup. For drag, the more power your car has the harder it's going to be to get a good launch. That's when setting up the suspension purely for the launch is important and is dictated by the power of the car.

Thanks That clears a little up for me. I was thinking about tracking the car, but drag is not what I am a fan of. There is a raceway opening up in NJ that just shot me some information on what they expanded, and that they plan to have a Drivers Club that allows access to the course. With any luck it may be once a week at Thunder Raceway. Since the car will mainly be my DD I am having a hard time finding those who agree with the basic setup so it will also compliment the track I will be on.

Unless you plan on spending big bucks, you won't find a setup that is absolutely perfect for the track you're going to be one. Your best bet is to just go for an all-around good setup.

I saw in the other forums that someone posted a 1g on the evo? Do you think with the right setup and some great tires the RalliArt could pull .95 is like the evo 9's

Doubt it unless you're talking about a full race setup with slicks.

That was a little . Go to the thread that states it has pic.s and tech talk. You'll se plenty there. Is anyone thinking about using this just for track? or is everyone here also using it as their DD. Since my pricetag is not completly evo its obvious for me its also a DD. So .95g on the skid pad is cool but not required.
