I have a set of xxr 527's 17x8.25 with a 35 offset.
ive studied this forum like crazy and i just need to know if i need spacers in the rear. i know its a close fit, but is it really necessary? im running 215/40/17's i just need to put them on but i just want to be sure. rolling the fenders seems like a hassle, but if it needs to be done than its not a problem
Thanks

normally i run 3mm spacers in the rear but at the moment i do not have them on and it doesnt seem like i'm having any issues with rubbing on the inside wall. i'll be putting the spacers back on soon though as i just hate the look of it being sunken in

Well I'm having a issue fitting them on because of the strut tower

I put on a 6mm spacer and it was insanely close. It's at the point where it's about to rub the strut tower with 6mm spacers. I'm gonna try with tires tomorrow see what happens

Ok, so I'm looking at putting on the 2012 Eclipse GS Sport rims on my 04 Ralliart. I received them for free, so no money out of pocket if they don't fit.

I have searched through the forums for this answer and have not found any answer to this question. Has anyone tried putting on the 18x8 rims? Everything I can find is 17x8 or 17x7.5. Nobody has mentioned if there is a problem with the 18x8. I don't know what the offset is for the 2012 Eclipse rims, but the tire guy says anything with +35 through +45 should be fine and the same numbers for the Eclipse, but they only recomend putting on up to 18x7.5 on the Lancer. That doesn't mean it won't fit, just that they can't guarantee a fit. I'm going to give it a shot anyway.

I'm willing to put on spacers and roll fenders if needed but I am hoping to avoid the spacers. I don't mind the rolled fenders as this is not a safety issue I would be concerned about. The spacers requiring longer studs may not be a huge concern to most, but I would prefer to not use them if it is not required.

I pick up the rims today so I will find out when I get home. I am thinking if the rims fit then I will go with a 225/35 or a 235/35 tire. I have a friend at a tire wholeseller that can try different sizes for me at no charge. I don't want the "stretched" look because I would like to protect the rim just in case I were to rub against a curb.

Has anyone tried the 18x8 and if so, what size tire was used? Thanks in advanced.

Reason why is because an 18" rim would look funny and to big for our Ralliart. But that's just my opinion.

Errr.......Guerejo , the rims should bolt on but I'm sure even if you have a stock suspension the tire will NOT fit without pulling the hell out of the fenders. I my first set of rims were 18s with a 215/40 tire and it fit very tightly. Some of the lettering on the tire was shaved off by the rear fenders.

Be sure to take some pics and tell about what you find out upon installation

Unhappy

18x8 rims don't fit. Like I mentioned, they are from a 2012 Eclipse GS Sport. I don't know what the offset is.

IMO, they are beautiful as you can see in the photos, just don't fit yet. The lugs tighten all the way down without effort and the wheel spins, but the rim is touching the swing arm and the spring in the back. I haven't tried the front yet. I'd consider 15mm or so wheel spacers for the back, but I don't know if I want them in the front. I don't mind the fender roll either. That doesn't bother me. I have always wanted 18" rims on my Ralliart. I may have to settle for the 18x7.5 wheels.

*Edit - I found some 1" wheel spacers that may be safer then the other ones I was looking at. This may be a good solution. Any one else use something like this? I added a photo.

I'll try the front rim tomorrow and check for clearance there.

I can always sell them on CraigsList if needed.

I put the stock back on but it is pouring rain right now. I'll go under the car tomorrow and measure how much space is currently available. Then I'll know how big of a spacer I will need to get so the rims can fit on the inside of the car.

I found this, http://www.wheelstiresandmore.com/p-...8x8-65847.aspx it says those rims are +46 offset. Hope that helps. I think all you need is a spacer to have them fit, and also low profile tires

How much do those 18s weigh?

Also here's a link to some pics of a member that had the 18x8 eclipse rims on his car. Maybe you could pm him for some advice on the spacers in the rear

The 18x8 2012 Eclipse GS Sport rims weigh 22.4 lbs each. Is that a lot? I don't know what to compare it to.
