225/50R16 Snows?

Hi all,
I've searched and while I have found some insights - nothing absolute. I'm moving to Minnesota later this month and lucked into finding a set of lightly used 225/50R16 Blizzaks for sale here in L.A. I'm thinking they may fit, but would have a good chance of rubbing, especially since I have a wagon and they seem to ride a bit lower in the rear. Can anyone tell me of any experiences they have had trying to run this size on stock RA wheels? My suspension is stock. Thanks!

I would suspect they will rub. Being a lot more aggressive in the shoulder area than your average tire combined with the wider footprint and larger overall diameter I'd say leave them behind.

They will most certainly rub and, on top of that, that's too wide of a tire for the stock 6" rim.

Check on Tire Rack's site. They have winter packages for our car that should fall around $500 shipped, including steel wheels.

Thanks, guys. That was pretty much the conclusion I had come to but wanted to be doubly sure.
