OZ Strut vs RA Strut
I see on the KYB website that the part number for RA struts and OZ struts are different.
Anybody what is the difference between the 2?
I'm looking into a set of OZ springs on my RA struts wich should fit but wondering what kind of ride it will be with such and hybrid.
Anybody has the damping specs on the RA vs OZ front struts?
The rear struts seem to be the same part so I won't bother on those and just put the OZ spring on them.

The RA strut is a bit more stiff and made to deal with the stiffer RA stock springs, I believe.

^I've wondered this myself, I would love a pair of KYB AGX's. When you go on Tein's site (doesn't necessarily help anyone rocking stock springs) they list the Ralliart Springs with the OZ one's the only thing that differs is the ride height, not sure if the height is enough that you couldn't get away with using the OZ AGX's or not.

The AGX isn't available for any of the Lancers, otherwise I'd have them already.

I'm wondering if the strut from the RA won't be a bit too short for the OZ springs, I know i can always compress them a bit more but there is a limit to everything

Touché, I just looked at the site again and there is nothing listed. I could have sworn I saw something a few months back, but I guess I was wrong.

Also yerp. I asked them directly if they had any plans for our generation of Lancer, and they basically told me to eff off in not so many words.

I'm actually emailing with a tech guy at KYB regarding the differences between the front struts on the RA and OZ. Here's the response I got on it this weekend.
"There is a significant difference in damping rates. 334369 is double the 334420 at low speed, with high speed damping rates close to a full-size V8 pickup truck.
Sorry I do not have access to drawings on the weekends, so the only difference I can answer is the 334369 compresses an additional 1/2". Extended length is the same."
334269 is the RA front strut, 334420 is the OZ front strut.
Hope that helps. Right now I'm planning on getting the RA struts with Eibach springs for my OZ.

that's a pretty good answer
I called my dealer the other day and he said the springs of the OZ would not fit on the top plate of the RA...that sounds like pretty good BS, do you giuys know better.

KYBs info sounds about right for me. The 334369 is much higher damping ratio than the 3344320. I've found from experience its much too much for the OZ spring - the mismatch gives a very bouncy ride.
I'd say it has a higher bump rating than is good for it. Rebound is probably fine.
Incidentally KYB don't spec the same part at the rear for OZ and RA - they just don't have an RA part in the aftermarket. If you want something that matches the RA rear spring then genuine oem mitsu is the only choice (though these are also made by KYB!)

Only partially true, the RA rear struts though not listed are the same as the LS Wagon (sorry no Part# off hand).

I was also told by a guy with KYB that the rear strut for the OZ is the same for the RA.

I think your right, on second thought I think I got confused between the struts and rear brakes. The RA shares the same rear rotors with the LS wagon. I do know the rear RA struts are the same off another model Lancer though (probably OZ).
