Drives: Ion Blue Ralliart Sportback with a Killer Corgie at the back!

Full brake job on Ralliart

W^ I got F&R EBC Ultimax Sport Blackdash Slotted Brake Rotors and EBC green pads with a set of Techna Fit SS brakes lines ready to mount on my Sportback.

I got a quote from my local PepBoys for $400 to install em and another from a small shop for $190.

Also one friend that have a small shop offered to help me with the install if I wanted to do it myself.

It is the first time I am doing something like this so I will be more that happy if you give me any tips before doing it this week. Do I need any special tool before doing the job. What are the torque specs for the OEM rotors and caliper bolts?

Thanks!

Brake jobs are usually easy. Its really just taking off the brake calipers, brake lines in your case for the ss ones, take off rotors, put new rotors on, compress the caliper with a big c clamp, install new brake lines, put in the new pads with shim or quite grease, not sure which it comes with. put on calipers and bleed the brakes. I would get a speed bleeder for like $5.00 at Autozone.

And the winner for correct ABS bleeding order in the Lancer RA cars is: OTTER!

It's furthest to closest to the ABS unit, not the MC, and I think some of the lines take some odd routing, which is why the bleed order is what it is.

I'd better know what the order is, I've bled/flushed my brakes enough times

Everything went ok: took around 5 hours to change everything (full brake job, oil change, rear enlinks bushings mod and install) but the camera memory stick is dead...so no pics!

Funny thing is that I changed the rear progress swaybar end links urethane bushings (sound of the missing pieces were driving me crazy) and now I have a funny sound in the front end (driver side). I will double check the driver side in the morning again.

By the way...the new brakes have some bite now...looking foward to test em next week!

about how much did you spend on the rotors and pads? I was thinking about getting a setup just like that but havent really had time to look for good prices.

EBC Pads & Rotors were around $400 from Import Replacemt Parts and the Techna fit braided lines around $130 new from ebay.
