Got new tires

Hey guys,

So I got my brand new tires : Toyo Proxes 4.

I can't really say if I like them since I only have them since few hours ! But as far as I know, they are very great ...

My question is :

I got Tein springs and my Proxes 4 are 205/50R16 (oem size). I had an alignment 2 weeks ago. Should I expect rubbing or excessive wear because of the drop ? This might be a stupid question, but these tires are quite expensive in Canada so I would like to enjoy them as long as possible without excessive wear.

Anybody have a Tein drop with our original tire size ?

This topic will probably be closed within 2-3 replies, but I have to ask !

Thanks

There is no rub with stock sized tires on drop springs unless you're running an inappropriate wheel.

I run the Dunlop Direzza Z1 star spec 205/50/16, which is really closer to a 215 tire (they run wide), with no rubbing.

Good, I know this topic would be answered fast

I have the stock mags with Proxes 4 so I doubt I'll have trouble but I had to ask.

Would a camber kit from RRM help to reduce the tire wear or it would be useless in our situation ? (only dropped of 1.5 in front)

Camber kit isn't needed, the stock front adjustability is able to compensate for the drop.

Otter said everything ! I also run Z1 Star spec 205/50/16 for DD and they re larger than my old 215/45/16 Falken Azenis.

NO RUB at all with coilovers and can now fit REAL size tire. Tried 225/45/17 TOYO R888 from a friend and only the rear need a little work to fit perfectly. 225/50/16 are 0.9'' lower so it might fit like a glove and have some room.... and no rub when I was running S-Tech springs but they do kill rear struts if you drive with too much passion
