Drives: 06 RA

Question Will Evo 03-06 Wheels fit RA?

this might be a stupid question, but i cannot find a straight answer anywhere.

so, i want to get these (see pic below) 03-06 evo wheels for my RA, and from what I understand, they should fit w/out any problem w/different size tires - is this true?

they are 17" x 8" and are 5 x 114 mm or 4.5" bolt pattern with I believe a +35 mm offset

That, and more, is covered in the first sticky at the top of this forum.
http://forums.evolutionm.net/lancer-...ead-first.html

And no, they will not fit.

yea I read what was posted in that sticky, however, there was no explanation, and I have seen pics and there is a thread on this forum somewhere, of someone having these wheels on a RA, but maybe they modified the fenders or something - ?

The only pic that's ever been posted was of an RA that simply bolted them on to see how they looked. The car wasn't driveable. They don't work because of the offset. The wheel sticks out way too far and isn't able to clear our fenders. They *might* be able to be made to fit with quite a bit of rolling and pulling of the fenders, and a smaller 225 tire, but really the better option is to find a properly fitting 17x7 rim.

I've bolted Evo wheels to my own car to see just how far out they stick, and it's a lot.

I have the evo VIII on my GTS for autocross. No problem here but they look smaller. You can put an 17 x 8 but with the proper offset. The GTS wheels (same of teh RA) are 46 offset try something closer to that and it will fit perfect

On this other thread, the RA has installed the EVO rims, maybe you could ask to the owner what are the special things that you need to do:

Click on this link to see the EVO rims thread ---> http://forums.evolutionm.net/lancer-...bo-update.html

He's not talking about the new RA... he has the 04-06 RA in mind. However the wheels/tire guide posted by otter explains pretty much everything needed. A lot of us (including myself) have tried many different rim/tire combo's including having rolled my fenders. I find that some tires work, others don't... I specifically have to run a tire in back with a very curved sidewall-to-contact surface tire in order to fit my 17x7's while still using 225/45 tires... the front I'm fine minus the rubbing on the wheel well at certain angles.

They will rub a lot unless you're referring to the 09 RA...

Well in about 2-3 weeks I'll have an evo with a set of both the 03 enkei's and the MR's as well. I'll throw one of the rims on the lancer just for documentation sake, plus my lancer is at stock height so it'll give you all a good idea of how badly they stick out.

Would a 215/45 fit on the rim?
