Its a simple procedure but a few people have some questions on how to do it.
First get everything that you will need:
1. Brake pads - I have HB457F.605 HPS compound ( $75)- they are the only non-oem pads sold (at leats at pepboys,autozone,or o'reily)
2. 14mm socket
3. Screwdriver
4. Jack
5. brake pad seperator(or whatever thats called)
6. Your car and about 30 min
Here is everything you will need:
Remove your wheel and remove the lower bolt on the caliper:
Once you have removed the bolt you can raise the caliper up
(NOTE : dont raise it to high because u dont want to damage your brake line)
Take the front pad off by squeezing the clips
(NOTE: if your caliper is painted be very careful not to scrape the paint off...it is very hard to do without scraping)
Next remove the rear pad. It is on the other side of the rotor. You just take your screwdriver and gently pry it off( on the driverside there is a little clip that is on the pad for the squealer, just remove that and put it on your new pad)
Next take the brake seperator and place it like it is in the picture. Slowly depress the piston until it is flush (until you cannot turn it anymore) Make SURE you do this SLOWLY!!!!
Take the clips and plates that are on your old pads and put them as they where onto your new pads. Before I did this (and dont know if this helps it just makes an big mess) I used Disk brake quiet. Just follow the directions. It is very messy and looks like crap. I only put it on the passenger side pads. I dont recommend it unless you still hear the squeal.
Then just put everything back together and do the next side. Here are the pics where I put the disk quiet on and didnt. Im gonna go in and scrape that crap off later.
Now I have no squeal AT ALL. The brakes will make a little noise until you break them in, but other than that they are awesome. Hope this helps!!
