K&N Air Filter '04 Ralli
Hey, haven't been here in awhile! Its time I change my air filter, and I'm looking to get a K&N replaceable air filter. It seems no one keeps them in stock, they're all special order . Anyway, are they easy to put it? Do I need any tools to change it or is it kinda 'plug in and play"? For those of you who have K&N's do they come with instructions on how to install and clean it? Thanks!

It's exactly the same as installing the stock air filter. Open the airbox, pull the old one out, put the new one in. No tools. Will take all of 30 seconds.
As for cleaning, they have kits for it which come with instructions. You don't need to clean it often, though, once every 50k or so is fine (or whatever they recommend)

ya mine cost 70 bucks or something.
that reminds me.. if the filter is the same as the 06, i'll sell you mine. I dont use it anymore ever since I got the SRI. PM me if interested.
It's still good for another 12'000 km's, but then it would need to be cleaned. There's the kit you can buy from K&N with the cleaner and oil.

easy peasy to do. just flick the 2 top braket/clamps off, gently pull the top apart and just slide out the filter. remember which way then slide the k&n one in and push the clamps back down, would be suprised if it took more than 5 minutes.

Well the air filter came in today. But where exactly is the air filter box? It was late already when I searched for it, so maybe I missed it cause it was getting dark, but I didn't see anything that screamed "insert air filter here". Help a chick out!

right side of the engine, black box. two metal clips on top of the box. just follow the air intake that goes from that box all the way to the front of the hood.
