Sounds like your car is in limp mode. Use a code puller to see what codes come up. You said this has been bugging you for about a year... Does your car drive normally after the initial stalling and sputtering?

reset ecu by disconnecting negative terminal on battery, start up, let idle for 10 min, drive under 3k rpm for 15 min, turn off car, and see if problem persists or if CEL comes up, then pull code and post up for us to help.

Please give the specific codes if you have them. Our car doesn't have a servicable TPS. It's probably the APPS that's failed, but would need the actual code your car threw to verify.

I'm having a similar issue, but it would seem that mine is sputtering near when MIVEC kicks in. It's feels like the engine is going to stall out on me or like a skip. It's between 2500 and 3500 RPM range. I called the Dealership and they were no help, they told me that I could bring it in and do diagnostics, but it would be better to wait until it's a real problem so they could narrow it down to the actual problem. It is a real problem. It does it in all gears, but i have to be at a steady speed. Any help?

I was thinking it could be the valves, or an injector going bad???

Upon further research, I'm being led to the idea that the problem could be a faulty coil pack??? Or a dirty or faulty MAF??

Also, there is no SEL code so I have no way of telling exactly where the problem lies except that if definitely feels like the motor isn't getting something around that RPM range or that it's binding up in that range. It's hard to describe exactly how it feels, but I think that the binding up description might be the best I have.
