hyper ground wiring

I finished installing my real Hyper Ground Wiring kit yesterday and I am so happy with it.

Before you go on about how it's just wire, and you can get your grounding wire for 1/10 of the price, you should check their web site on the construction of the cables. They are very nicely made and crimped, the gold or silver (the ones i got) ones are double sleeved and tubed (the wire is inside a tube, wrapped with metal sleeving, then put inside another tube then wrap again) to cut down on interference and it's stiff, so you can bent it to shape and it will hold.

I came with 5 different length cables, and I found 4out of 5 factory grounding points. But one of them is right next to the stock air box and there just isn't enough room there to put the wire. So I just used the other two. Ran the five cables and connected all the stock ground points together. Used the last cable to hook up the battery to the ground.

Right away I tried it out, at idle with the fog lights on, rear defroster and the stereo crank, the idle is smooth, before it would drop a bit and the lights dim. Running the car down the street, the acceleration is just a bit better.. nothing drastic, just suttle difference..

by better, i think the acceleration is smoother. not any faster. as for interference, its a straight body ground. it doent matter =] It's only purpose is to complete the circuit. integrity of the signal isnt important at this point. the shielding's biggest goal is to make the wires heat resistant. the idea of the ground wires is to basicly increase the 'bandwidth' so to say, that the juice in the system can use to escape and provide a complete circuit. With about 500w total running through the system /w the old dinky wire, you could image that we might get a bottle neck =)

regardless, its a good spend of $50, especially if you ahve s&s or aftermarket sound =)

I got it when I was in LA.. much cheaper than local (here in canada)

the kit the dealer sells is also from Hyper Ground Wiring (sun trading) and they are custom made for the RA.. if i knew that back then i would have gotten the one from the dealer, since making the universal kit fit was a little more work for about the same price

I just got ground wires for my other car (the VR4), and I should've just asked someone what the lengths of the wires are and where each one goes. Do you happen to have measurements and where these go on the RA?

If you head over to the RA show and shine forum, under the Silver RA section, there's an underhood picture of my car, and you can see where most of the grounding points are. The only one you can't really see is underneath the engine cover.

I just bought the red Ralliart kit on ebay a few days ago. I didn't know people have given negative comments on it. I guess I'll try it out and let you know what I think.

I have a ground wire kit. The acceleration definitely pulls a bit smoother. I used to notice a slight hesitation around 4,000 rpms, that's gone. Worth the money and a fun install.
