Drives: your mom crazy with my striking good looks

It won't even let me replace the other cables, just another one to plug into the laptop. It's cool though, that's what usb to serial cables are for, hooray 2007!!!

It has been cool lately, around 40 to 55 degrees F during tuning.

NEW MODS - here is what is affecting my AFR:
RRM UDP
RRM Downpipe
Magnaflow high flow cat
glasspack 30" resonator
free flow muffler

anytime, are you going to put the cam in before you get the wideband? If not, let me know how the map looks. I am sure if you put the cam in it will change drastically, it may even be faster to retune from a map of all 10's at that point, but I would see first. Let me know if you want some help with that tuning, I would definitely be interested to see the differences.

well id love to take it back to the dyno and see how it looks before the cam but the guy i used to use is closed and so far the only ofther local guy ive found is a rip off. $100 the first run and 50 per after that and he wont do any tuning. The guys i used to go to were $60 for three pulls, and 100 an hour for tuning pulls included.

My first question and the after looking at the maps the only thing im not sure of is what the top numbers measured in V (volts?) means? and is it the piggys software that would tell me that number when im doing the run?

The map you sent me had the wrong options selected. This is common, I believe, as the default is pressure. The correct display is voltage from the MAF sensor plotted against RPM's. It doesn't have any effect on the operation on the piggyback, just the display in the R4 software. If you would like to see the reading in pressure I can tell you how to change it, but that is not what the unit is reading from the sensor.

with the engine running the R4 software would display that map with one cell highlighted with blue. That cell is the current voltage reading from the MAF. You can tap the throttle and watch it jump around. This is how you determine what RPM range is hitting what voltage (actually done on a log, or "recording," from the piggyback) so you know what cells to modify. For instance your AFR is 15 at 4300 RPMS and your MAF reading is around 3.6 or 3.7 at this RPM. You go to the fuel map and at the 4000 and 3.6 intersection you find the value is a 9.4, which leans out the stock fuel map. Most likely the 3.7 cell will be a 9.4 as well. You need to get to around 13.3 so I would cut that up to 9.6, maybe 9.7 depending on the trend in the AFR curve. See?

no, I don't think that was your problem I emailed you again. I created a new customer for the new map, so you wouldn't get the new one and old one mixed up, but never copied the map to the new file.

Question

okay now i am going nuts!! i take the right tune out to the car hook up to the ecu but the software wont let me connect! not sure why, only idea i have is that i might have forgotten to disconnect in the software before i exited out last time i was using it.?

guess i could disconnect the battery for a little while to force reset it, hopefully that would fix it...

nope, check your email. For anyone else who is watching this thread:

Quote:
Are you sure you are trying the correct COM port? That is usually the problem. Every USB port assigns a diffferent COM port address to the adapter. In other words, on my laptop COM 4 is the top USB port and COM 5 is the bottom usb port.

P.S. You should disconnect from the ECU(piggy) before disconnecting the cable, but if you exit the R4 software without disconnecting it shouldn't matter, that would disconnect it automatically.
