Drives: your mom crazy with my striking good looks

can you elaborate a little? what sensors (other than airflow meter) allow for an adjustment by the ECU for a cam, header/DP or P&P IM? seems like we are reaching here to me, I'd hate to put all that stuff in my car and find out it's super lean. remember, some of the people with one base tune or another of RRM's has come up lean with the recommended mods for that base tune. mods like those mentioned would almost definitely cause a lean burn when it's already kind of lean as it is.

I don't want to say your wrong, but you aren't giving us any reason aside from your word that we will "be fine." I've given some pretty sound advice in regards to how the ECU is supposed to work, at least according to all my research and limited experience with this car so far, and I don't think being fine and tuned properly are interchangeable. yeah, your engine probably won't blow up, but you damn sure aren't getting what you should out of the car. not even close; the temperature difference between summer and winter here leans me out quite a bit, that's not even close to safe if your AFR's are steady at 13.3 in the summer

please give us further detail.

for the RA or in general? for the RA by far the split second unit RRM sells. right now it is one of two piggyback units proven to tune fuel on the RA. the other is the AEM FIC which does not use the MAF circuit to control fuel.

RRM piggy is the only pretuned unit however for any of the Lancers! They all come with software now but you do not need it unless you want to do a custom tune etc.... AGAIN software is included with all piggies now. Thanks Dan.

new maps?

hey guys i just bought the v2 Piggy back and i was just wondering if anyone has any good maps out there. my mods are SRI, UDP, custom exhaust for the engine so far. i saw one of dans maps when he had similar mods done to his car and i am going to test that one out the second i get a cable. but if anyone has/had similar mods and has a really nice working map it would be great to see. working on getting a wideband soon so not to worry.

BAse map should be fine but if you are going to custom tune make sure you get a Zeitronix ZT-2 or get on the dyno.

you need to read. we aren't here to offer maps up any time someone asks. there is a lot more into a proper map than just picking one out. if you are looking for a base map the piggy comes with one; go to a tuner and have them make it yours

I have the Split Second CD , I installed it just to see and there's a file. I open it and there's a chart fill with numbers.

Its probably a base map, but what does it do. I know I should go on a dyno to tune my car but I want do it myself and learn. Im not a mec but I love to do all by myself.

If you want you can PM me if someone want to help me a bit

Thank you

Sorry, but if you don't even understand how a fuel map works, this is a little beyond your abilities at the moment.

There are several good threads about piggyback maps, mostly either started by or filled with posts by DangerousDan, that go into greater detail about how to tune the piggy yourself.

Basically, if you don't want to dyno tune and pay someone to do it for you, you'll need a wideband O2 sensor and a laptop. Datalog a couple runs, make SMALL adjustments, and datalog more runs until you hit the AFR you were shooting for.

YEA. Not always good to teach yourself how to tune. OUr piggys come pretuned. Stick with that until you do some wild mods. It will be hard to beat the base map we supply in most cases.

I would like to know how accurate is this info
