I inadvertently posted on the wrong thread and my car was referred to as something that never crossed my mind. I mean, I've heard the expression before, but, never thought my car fit that category...or does it? Almost every modification I've made serves a functional purpose, as well as aesthetic. Is my car becoming a "ricer"?

Uhh I don't think whoever is responsible for that comment understands the meaning of "rice," I see nothing about your car that makes it "ricey"

Truth recognise that the rice nonsense originated from a bunch of idle t-ats and move along smartly.
It's YOUR car and YOUR money and it makes you (and some of us too) HAPPY.

This made me smile:

http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Ricer

And hey, what's wrong with "rice"...I've been married to an Asian woman for 30 years and buying 25-50lb bags of rice for just as long!

I wouldnt worry about it Gary. Your car doesnt come close to being "rice". Everything you have done serves a purpose, therfore its not rice.

Ive gotten use to it around where I live. Everyone who drives an import gets called a ricer by all the guys who think that if a car isnt a domestic V8 then it cant be fast. Ive also given a couple of those same guys rides in my car around some curvy roads and made them squeal like little girls... And the ones that dared follow me complained and made excuses as to why they couldnt keep up... So yea... lmao

I really wasnt worried about it, but was curious as to what made him say that, so i asked him to define what ricer meant to him. He hasn't responded. Ricer to me includes one that puts $1000's into "aggressive wheels" to put on their BMW's, EVO's, etc., cambers them to a point of being nearly undrivable, and negates what the orignal purpose of the car is. Sorry, "stance" only applies to the guy in the batter's box. Heck, it doesn't even have to be a top end vehicle, even a Honda 'll do! Sorry bro-in-law, lol!

This is a GOOD example of leaving the hood red yet with black effects, including the rear spoiler!

Ok, this is pre-paint tomorrow...

I have had these CF naca-style ducts for a while now, and decided to add one to match the VIS style hood, but after finishing the right, side I had the matching pair so I decided to put it on the left side as well. these are just laid inside the holes for the picture but it gives you an idea of what it will look like when it is finished. Btw, I've decided to paint the hood a gloss black to match the gloss vents, as well as the side mirrors and the rear wing when it comes in:

I almost kicked myself when I found a link that I posted a while back, then decided to actually click on it and was curious how much the shipping would be...$27.06!

http://www.vividracing.com/catalog/d...150762593.html

That is the DAMD model which doesn't cover the top of the tail lights, but still has a nice appearance. Otherwise, if you prefer the JP model the price is generally the same, but the shipping is over half the price of the part itself (coming from Japan) which is what I succumbed to! It use to be found here, but it looks like they've removed the JP model:

Every now and again I will pop in, curious - what else you have done to your Lancer. Every bit of detail makes it unique. Any changes for the future or are you pretty much satisfied with they way it sits now?
