engine shaking

Hi all hope you can help. Last week the car was running fine, then when it got really cold the battery died on me, so i gave it a jump and when the car started the engine was shaking, white to grey smoke coming from exhaust, and when i press the gas pedal the rpms would not move and when i let off the car would die. Also the car is running really rich, cause when it was started i could smell gas. please help this is giving me a headache. Thanks.

Change the sparkplugs. Most likely you've got a few fouled because of a rich startup. This is one of the reasons why I gave up on the piggyback stupidity - bad cold starts.

You can check the injectors because sometimes they get jammed

When you pulled the sparkplugs did you notice one looked different than the rest? That would indicate that it's running on 3 cylinders. I'd start with that if you've already tried changing them. With the car running you can also try unplugging each of the coils and when the note of the engine doesn't change you know that's your dead cylinder.
