Exhaust manifold holes will make it more difficult to achieve the target amount of boost. Maybe post pics of the hole and that would give a good idea of how bad it is. I've seen quite a few cracked ones now.

Drives: 2004 Lancer Ralliart

One of my friends EVO manifold cracked and the car felt so sluggish afterwards. It wasn't responsive at all and the turbo didn't even ever spool up the same until he got a new one.

Oh. Well I don't know about that. His manifold actually cracked. I'm not sure if a pinhole would matter but I'm sure it would if it is enough to leak.

Drives: a boosted Ralliart ;)

Does the boost gauge show problems?

I've seen those before. That one cracked because of the poor quality welding. From that photo I don't think it's a big enough crack to cause any problems. Your difficulty probably lies elsewhere. Personally I'd send it back as they're difficult to fix with the coating because you have to grind it all off where you want to weld it. If you leave it the crack will spread.
