Yay, 550cc injectors working with reflash
Just wanted to report that the car is working now with 550cc fuel injectors. I adjusted the fuel table and fuel injector size compensation to get a nice stoich idle with a set of RC550cc injectors installed. I decided to change the AR on the turbo and the new downpipe has yet to be TIG welded back together so next week I'll be doing some driving around to verify that the fuel trims and check engine light stays in check. If that goes OK it's off to the dyno. After more than a year of hard work on this thing it's finally starting to look good.

Spent some time Saturday playing with it at the shop. I don't like to work Saturdays but the owner of the car twisted my arm behind my back and made me :P We drove it about 30km. Still need to adjust the injector scalars a bit as it's maxing out at -12.5% LTFT. Still remarkable considering these fuel injectors are more than twice the stock size. Cruise was pretty good at 14.7:1. Car needs a new BOV before we can continue - it was leaking a lot... No point playing with the tune until the BOV problem is fixed.

Ok, so I'm an idiot... Well not really. Turns out the fuel injectors are actually 440cc RC engineering, not 550's. Explains why the fuel scalar was wrong. 440's open quicker than 550's so the idle was too rich but boost was too lean.

Naw, engine won`t go boom that easily. I pulled some timing, plus it's tuned from the factory for 87 octane. This means when you add boost the timing is already nice and conservative for the 94 octane we're feeding it. I also monitor the AFRs while we drive so we ease into boost slowly. If at a few psi I don't like what we see then that's it, back to the drawing table. Spent my entire day saying bad words at a Lotus so I'm going to mess around with this for an hour or so...

Not supported and unless someone else has deep pockets for a small number of vehicles it's unlikely that it will be supported with ecuflash.

Unfortunately I pointed out, years ago when they started grinding the end caps off these WRX injectors the spray pattern and quality suffers a lot. So the $200 you save in fuel injectors you quickly burn in extra fuel.
How did you manage to get 780cc injectors to run properly on a stock computer???
