SSP... my goal is 525-550 whp, i think u might need to make me a crankshaft lol. while im unemployed i'll buy the rods, pistons, crankshaft, than once i get a job i'll buy the little parts and redo the head. than when all that is done i'll figure out the hard part. engine/fuel management. i can barely get the piggyback and 5th fuel injector tuned right. how the hell am i gonna get all this mess tuned to 500whp.

Everyone probably knows about the gm MAF translator allready, most don't know about the Version 2 that's 'universal' and will more or less automatically adjust your A/F to whatever you set it to. It won't be as dead on accurate as a standalone with 6 days of dyno-tuning but it should be good enough to get you pretty damn close across the board. I haven't checked the fuel injector clips to see if they're the same as the 4g63's but if they are... There are tons of good deals on FIC injectors right now. You might even consider going E85 for that 105-110 octane for half or less price race fuel w/o the dead catylitic converter. Plus you can say you race on biofuel . The stuffs about knock proof, the only problem is finding it local to you. I'm in the midwest where they grow most of it and it can be a little scarce between fillups sometimes so you'd have to plan your trips around known E85 stations or bring your own gas can reserve! A lot of people are doing it just for the extra power the timing advance gives you though. A lot easier to get that 500whp goal and less prone to overheating. Just my .02 though.
edit: Hey I just saw that Magnus has their stroker kits on sale and it seems they also do custom pistons as well. These are designed for the 4g64 but I'm pretty sure they can modify them since all their pistons are custom built as well. The reason I even bring it up is: You were looking for a higher rev limit and for that you'd need a lighter piston which Magnus is offering. Give Pete a call and see if it's another option for you. this may be a n00b question but i dont care. I'm gonnna ask it anyway...
Now i know 06 eclipses and galants share the same 2.4 liter as us. my question is will that motor directly bolt up with our transmission and motor mounts? or some custom **** chopping to do?
thanks

Just got back today LSD. I was in Florida for a week with the wife. For something like what you want i would build one. Our cranks are cast and with the increase in pressure due to the turbo and also the increase in torque will make that cast crank into a noodle. I could possibly harden it but then i would have to test it to see what kind of pressure it can take. Give me alittle bit to see what i can make up for ya to ensure you don't need another one until 700+ hp. Materials aren't too inexpensive anymore. I will try and keep you updated LSD. I am going to work overtime now.

Hey LSD sorry to be jumping on this one for you but have a little info for you in regards to the Eclipse engines fitting our cars etc I think they do - but I do know that there was a problem with a clearance around the gearbox - RPW sent over a set of headers that fitted my car perfectly but they had issues with clearance best place to find out more info is on the Eclipse forum, there is a fairly good write up about it and were the problem was. I have a feeling it was on the frame work itself... but both cars even tho different chassis had the same engine gearbox and ECU... which kind of tells us it was a chassis issue only as they used the same chassis for the V6 verssion in this chassis as well.
The Haltech unit that I used is awesome and dyno time was in hours rather than days with your setup I would think that going for something more standalone will give you so much more driveability especially with the hp you are wanting and you definately will want too get 4 large injectors rather than 1 large injector.
I am wondering if more than the rods from a evo 8/9 is the only internal part that is compatable I know the fuel rails are the same as ours
Onto something that has not been mentioned is cooling I had cooling problems in mine and when I do mine again I will be looking at changing over to a better radiator and maybe add a oil cooler - the oil in the turbo must get hot very quickly and is circulating frequently so this could be another layer of protection that could be used to save/protect the engine and your investment.

Hey mate I have just been checking out the Wiseco web site and I think they have a piston that may be suitable for you good news is that the cost is only $450 per set when compared to other alternatives which are going to set you back almost twice as much.

OK i just checked the wiseco site. It says they only have pistons for 1st and 2nd gen eclipses, evo 8's and 9's, and the 4g64 motor. We have the 4g69. Now to be honest i dont know how to read the sizes and compare them to know if piston X will fit our car. But i know it don't say anything about the 4g69, nothing about ralliarts, and If i remember correctly, I'm told the evopistons don't fit, only evo rods fit out car. So i dont wanna spend 450 on pistons that "might" fight my car. Unless there is something that i missed.....
and about your hot oil comment. Absolutly right. I added an oil cooler to my "list of **** to buy", and since you mentioned it, i might as well throw in a radiator in there.
This list is getting bigger and bigger
and yea. Standalone and fuel management.... I'll be selling BOTH of my 5th injectors (750cc and 1000cc) and I willl be throwing on an evo fuel rail. Just makes better sense with the power i'll be aiming for. and easier to tune i bet. Also, about the stand alone. that will be the hardest part, hands down. I will probly just search high and low for a GREAT tuner, see what they are expereinced wit, and drop the car off at there shop for a few weeks. tell them don't give me my car back until it has 400whp. Than its time to swap turbo's and hit the big 509 WHP. thats my goal. 509.

lol funny, cuz last night i was talkging to somebody. they said If i did this to the motor, all im gonna have is a glorified piece of ****. If i get 509 whp (if i get it) it will break in a matter of days. He said with an evo, you can get that power in a weekend with bolt ons, and drive the car everyday for years. he's right. The ralliart is a very unreliable car.
but i dont care. I still want to have bragging rights. As soon as i get 509whp i'll sell it and get an evo. start all over again.

I wouldn't say unreliable.
My car has over a year of boosted an a major prob has yet to occur.
But at that extreme i wouldn't doubt it lol
